![]() Regardless of the best interpretations of Pact of the Blade, I'm of the opinion that taking a Warlock into melee is a big mistake. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned more often as a benefit of Pact of the Blade, now I think about it. Or polearm/two-hand anything for the Polearm Master/Great Weapon Master feats. There's also the chance to do SA damage or to use things as Monk weapons that you normally couldn't use (just change them to the biggest finesse weapon you can). Lots of +d6Īctually, are there any really weird nets with binding features that you could rather dubiously bring back as mêlée/ranged/thrown weapons? I can't find any in the DMG, but maybe in the play test or published adventures.ĭwarven Thrower could be nice as a larger weapon. Could make for a pretty scary amount of damage with Hex on top of it all. Flame Tongue/Frost Brand should work fine as bows or slings by their wording without the combo above. Might also be a nice way of getting mêlée-only mods onto a ranged weapon if 5th ever goes down that path. So no Flame Tongue or Frost Brand sword/*Sling* and Magic Stone combo. It seems like Magic Stone would ignore the launcher's properties all together. It doesn't say it removes the weapon's bonus, but it does say it's a ranged spell attack, so would the launcher + count? It should in theory add to-hit plus of the sling to the pebble, but not to damage. ![]() Might have some synergy with a sling and the Magic Stone cantrip (EEPC). Shunt it off into dimensional space and bring it back as anything I guess. I think it is reasonable to assume very powerful wizards might eventually get both a Robe of Archmagi and one of the other items like a staff or wand in the same campaign and want to use both, for a combination of +5 and that is pretty broken.Or a cross/bow, sling, or even a net. I am not saying every warlock is going to get all three of those items at their highest rarity and use all three of their attunement slots on them, but it is pretty freaking silly that it would all work together if they did. ![]() ![]() Wand of the warmage actually works for any spellcaster (including paladins and druids for example) and goes to +3, and rod of the pact keeper works for anyone with a single level in warlock also going to +3. Now the disgustingly broken part unlike magic weapons all of this stacks if you can can attune 3 of them they would all work together for every spell.įor instance Robe of the Archmagi can be worn by anyone with a single level in sorcerer, warlock, or wizard. ![]() Rod of the pact keeper, staff of woodlands, talisman of pure good/ultimate evil, and robe of the archmagi also do this. ![]()
